My house is a split-entry pattern with the lower level one-half below grade. So the lower-level walls are concrete cake from the foundation upward to the stud walls. I Prepped the Surface
The instructions recommended removing all traces of efflorescence before applying the production. I purchased a canteen of DRYLOK ETCH and diluted information technology co-ordinate to the instructions. I wore rubber gloves and centre protection and practical it to the blocks with a stiff brush. Then I rinsed the surface with clean water.
Adjacent, I checked for holes and cracks in the blocks and forth the area where the blocks run across the flooring. I found a small-scale gap where the floor meets the wall. I mixed the DRYLOK Fast Plug product and loaded it into a sandwich bag. And so I clipped the corner of the pocketbook and squeezed it to force the cement into the scissure. Then I smoothed it over with my finger and let it cure for 24 hours.
Then I applied DRYLOK Waterproofer
Because block is porous, it's really of import to use a strong nylon bristle castor or a iii/4-in.-nap roller to force the product into the pores. I was working with a modest section, so I used the brush for the first coat and the roller for the second coat, allowing the production to dry between coats.
After the second glaze stale, I inspected the wall for pinholes and filled them using the brush.
